Vegas birthday

I woke up around 9 this morning. I did not feel good. But there was no barfing to be had with this girl, so cheers.

Oh and today is my birthday! I'm 24 years old! We didn't come to Vegas for my birthday, it just happened to fall on the dates chosen for Vegas. I'm happy it worked out this way!

But back to being hungover. I worked up the energy to take a shower. Apparently Kurtis blew chunks in our bathroom last night when I passed out but I couldn't really tell. I showered then went back to bed. I got out around 11 and Maria and I left to go have lunch at Shake Shack.

It's basically burgers and fries and shakes. I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries and a black and white milkshake. Maria got a cheeseburger and fries and I payed for both of ours and she got mad because she wanted to pay, stating that it was my birthday. The guy behind the counter was like "Aw it's your birthday?" And I said yep so he gave me free ice cream with rainbow sprinkles! He was so nice!

The food was delicious but I was still not feeling super so I ate about half and saved the rest for our comrades back in the hotel.

Put it in my mouth

We went back to the hotel and woke up Liz and Jim and Kurtis. We swapped stories from last night. I fell asleep first because apparently I'm a wanker but everyone else had a good time. I was the least hungover.

They liked the food we brought them back enough to go to Shake Shack for their lunch. I didn't want to go back so Maria and I took an Uber over to the Stratosphere hotel. They have rides there!

The only thing I really wanted for my birthday was to do the Skyjump. It's where you jump off of the 108th floor of the Stratospher tower. It's about an 855 feet fall. It costs $120 which I was willing to pay but Maria was on the fence. I finally told her "If you don't do it, you'll regret it forever." and she agreed. So she payed!

First, the strap you up and you can watch from the bottom as other people jump. I was more excited than nervous!

After they get you bundled in, you get escorted to the 108th floor which is like a lounge and viewing area of all of Las Vegas. I choose to jump first.

They put me in a room and rechecked my harness, making it really tight to the point of discomfort. Then they rechecked in all again. Then they walked me out onto this platform in the open air and I was starting to sweat.

The lady working told me she would count down and then I jump. I stood over the edge, ready to do it, when she said "3, 2, 1, JUMP!" and I tried to jump. But I hesitated! After I hesitated for that second I was angry at myself so I jumped off.

It's like you're flying! I let out a quick scream and than was able to relax and enjoy it! You fall very fast. The bulls-eye landing comes into view quickly and you think you're gonna slow down but you don't and it comes faster and faster until you're about 10 feet off and then it slows. The employee on bottom  yells "Land on your feet!" so I did and the impact sent an instant shock up my ankles.

"Aw FUCK!" I yelled when I hit. It hurt! My suit was also really tight and uncomfortable. It was like a 4/10 on the pain scale. A bunch of people were watching and clapped for me. I ran inside and took the suit off and grabbed my camera because Maria was coming down next. I took a video of her!

We got certificates for jumping too!

After that we went back up to the 108th floor to hang out. The view wasn't great but only because Nevada isn't pretty and also who cares. No one else came by to jump.

1, 2, 3, JUMP!

Then we left and took an Uber back to the hotel. More hanging out was done until it was time to go to our Tournament of Kings dinner at our hotel. We all met up and went into the area. When we bought our tickets, we had a choice of seat sections. The titles were Ireland, Russia, Spain, Austria, Italy, Dragon, and France. I picked Italy.

Just kidding I picked Dragon.

Dragon!

The show started and we were served tomato soup on cups. They don't give you silverware which is a bummer. The soup was really good.

The show story was basically this king was having a party and invited over kings and dukes from the other lands which seat section you sat in. All but dragon because dragon is not a country. Dragon was actual this evil guy who shot fire. We loved him and cheered for him very very loudly. Anyways, the kings played in a tournament and did jousting and shit on actual horses. It was fun to watch.

Finish him!

Then our dragon guy killed the king and we cheered like mad. Then I think the kings son killed the dragons son and we booed like mad. In the end the prince became the new king. Oh and they served dinner. It was a biscuit, 2 small potatoes, a chunk of broccoli, and a small chicken. The food was merely okay.

The show was an hour and a half long. After that we returned to the rooms then went over to Luxor around 8 to get to the Blue Man Group, who we were seeing at 9:30.The Blue Man Group were a lot of fun! It was more intimate than I expected. It was a party!

After the show we got our pictures with the sound crew. Then I got a picture with one of the blue dudes!

I'm so damn white

Just got a little less white

Everyone loved the show! We went back to the hotel and started to pack our bags for tomorrow. We have to leave the hotel by around 5:30. Disgusting! I hope it all goes smoothly. As for now I am done. It's 2 am.

REFLECTION!
This trip was fun, but only because of the people I went with. Maria, Liz, Jim, and Kurtis are all super cool people. I would love to take a vacation with them again some day. Las Vegas itself was all right. I mean it wasn't fantastic and nothing really impressed me, but I had a good time. I didn't gamble, not even a penny. There's plenty to do besides gamble. Oh and taking a vacation on your birthday is the way to go. This was a very happy birthday for me!

But good god did I drink too much.

Bellagio and Mirage

Off to a lazy start this morning. I slept until 9:30 and it was 10 before Maria and I left the room. My legs were sore! I found an ugly bruise on my calf.

Who did this?!

We had breakfast up at the food court. I had this dry breakfast sandwich.

Needs ketchup

We met up with the others, chilled, then had lunch at the food court. I took it back to the room to eat there. Halfway through I took a nap.

Maria came and napped too. Sometime later we met up with everyone but Jim (who had a video interview at 2) and went back to the food court to sit at a bar. I had an italian margarita for $5.

It was good. After that Liz and Maria bought a 100 ounce margarita. It was not good but it was big.

We killed more time, snacked more, then met up with everyone and bought tickets for shows tomorrow. We decided on the Kings Tournament and Blue Man Group. It was a total of $110 for the tickets which is not bad considering Blue Man Group on its own is $130 and Kings is $65.

Around 4 we left the hotel! We went to New York New York to ride their roller coaster. It cost I think $10 a person. Todd and Kurtis opted out so the remaining four got seats. The ride was painful! But fun. I love me some roller coasters.

We walked up to the Bellagio and saw the fountain show. It was okay, not that exciting.

Then we went to Mirage and saw the volcano show. More exciting than the fountains, but also okay.

By now everyone is bitchin' and moanin' about eating again. So we stopped at a food court and I split a subway sandwich with Todd and also got a chili hot dog because why not.

Love me some weiner

After eating, the gang wanted to go to this whisky tasting room. It was called Vom Fass and it was badass.

They had all sorts of whisky, bourbon, vodka, gin, wines, etc. The people were so friendly and knowledgeable. I tried a grapefruit vodka and a couple whiskys. All of us tried absinthe too! It was fancy as hell. They dripped water over a sugar cube and into the absinthe and it tasted pretty gross.

When we left Kurtis stole the shot glass we tried our drinks in. He put it in my bag and it bumped into the shot glass that I stole. Liz and Jim bought a bottle of absinthe. After that we went to go find a Walgreens to buy more beer and water. On the way we passed the Bellagio again and saw the fountain show. It was way better at night!

Cue Time To Say Goodbye (Con te partiro)

We found our Walgreens and passed by an ugly Elvis statue. It actually wasn't a statue, it was a person that pretended to be one and then scared you when you didn't expect it. I found that out the hard way.

So we get our beers and water and go back to Excalibur. And the drinking starts....

The six of us played drinking games and acted like drunk idiots until midnight. Then it was my birthday! So I made everyone do two shots and that's when the night took a turn. It was a lot of fun! This is a very fun group of people.

We got McDonalds but they didn't have bagels so I walked out pissed. I went back to the hotel and passed out by myself because I was fucked up. It was 2 am.

Fremont Street

I had trouble sleeping all night. I kept having crazy drunk dreams and waking up every couple hours. Finally Maria and I both got up at 8. We were pretty much ready to leave by 9 but ended up waiting for Liz, Jim, and Kurtis. While we waited Maria and I wandered through the hotel. It's massive! We got fruit and a coffee for $9.

We checked out the pool. It's just a pool, not too exciting. Then we met up with the others (minus Todd who we were meeting at his hotel) and had breakfast at a food court at Excalibur. I got a chia banana strawberry shake and half a breakfast sandwich. The shake had dates in it which was disgusting but other than that it was a good breakfast. It cost $7 I think.

Dates are so gross.

We left the hotel and began walking! I was the only one wearing shorts and the weather was a bit cool for me.

The five of us went to New York New York and looked around there. It did not remind me of real New York but I liked it.

Unique New York Unique New York

We went over to MGM and found our Toddles. The six of us all had a beer and toasted to drinking before noon. Open container is legal on the strip so we always have a beer in our hands.

Cheers to being day drunk!

And then we wandered more! Liz and Jim have been to Vegas before, this being Jim's third trip and Liz's second. They led the way, hitting up big casinos and looking around. Vendors tried giving us cards and we all tried coming up with the funniest way of saying "no" to them. Maria and Kurtis won with their sayings of "Sorry, my hands are full" and gesturing with a beer can in each hand and "No thanks I'm trying to quit" (which was always good for a laugh when they offer you drink tickets and you're holding a beer in hand) respectively. We got to Paris Las Vegas and the group promptly split.

Adieu! Adieu! To you and you and youuuu!

I went off on my own and looked at shopping! I was gone for maybe 5 or 10 minutes before they were calling me and asking where the eff I was. By the time I got back to the group, Todd and Kurtis had wandered off so we had to wait for them.

FINALLY we all got back together. Someone bought a giant margarita for $18 and we meant to split it but it was a lil strong for my homies. So I drank it!

Lil strong on the slushie for me.

We went to Ceasars Palace to cut through to go to Bellagio to see the water show. But the shopping was bomb so I stayed there at Ceasars. The margarita was almost gone and I took it with me when the group split. I was pretty buzzed and lovin' life. There was a Lush store so I went in and bought two bath bombs. One smells like fresh cut grass and the other is a glitter bomb. They cost me $20.

Smells like heaven

And then I looked around more! It was so pretty! There were lots of fancy stores I didn't go in.

Eventually we found our way back outside to stare at some water. I dug six pennies out of my bag and gave everyone one. I wished that I would have a happy birthday on Thursday! I don't know what anyone else wished for. Probably they also wished my birthday will be kickass.

I was full on life and margarita, but the others needed food. The group decided to go to Bubba Gumps where we sat outside on the deck. Last time I ate Bubba Gump's in New York I had mac and cheese and almost shit my pants at the 9/11 memorial. This time I got a shrimp po boy sandwich.

As God as my witness, I will never almost poop my pants again.

It was good and I ate half. My food came out to $12 and after lunch we went back to the hotel. Maria, Todd, and I hung out in our room and I got caught up on blogging. We drank more beers then Todd left because he was seeing a show with his dad. The five of us wandered around the hotel, exploring an area called The Fun Dungeon which wasn't about sex at all. It was an arcade. I put a dollar in a Zolar fortune telling machine and hoped for something good.

That's too much reading for me

Then we wandered more! Some of the group went gambling. Kurtis and I went to an oxygen bar. Basically you get hooked up to scented oxygen and chill. It cost $15 for 10 minutes and Kurtis payed for mine.

Flavors include cranberry, lavender, eucalyptus, and more.

While we breathed that oxygen, we got these electric shock pads placed on our backs and this ipod like device to control the pressure and settings.

Ouchie!

It hurt. My back muscles would tense up and then when the thing released and my shoulders would fall back down. My goodness it was uncomfortable. But I still did it. While we breathed oxygen and stressing our shoulders, the lady running the bar would come up and massage our backs with this vibrator. It would have been cool with just oxygen, nothing else. When we left I felt lightheaded and clean mentally but stressed physically. It was a 6/10 experience.

We met back up with Maria, Jim, and Liz in our hotel room. Kurtis and I did shots and I got drunk fast. We decided to go to dinner on Fremont Street and ordered an Uber.

I was wasted. We went to a buffet and it cost $14 a person and Kurtis payed for me. I just grabbed random food and then didn't eat half of it.

Drunk dinner

I fell asleep at the table and woke up to someone giving me an ice cream cone. The second I grabbed the cone I dropped it.

Five second rule!

We left wherever the hell we ate dinner and hung out on Fremont Street! They were a lot of street performers and this is where you do the zipline at night. It was a loud, less classy atmosphere than the strip. But it was all right. Kurtis dragged me over to some Kiss wannabes who were wearing g strings. He told them I was his sister and those three Kiss dudes pulled me into a picture. They were like "Hold out your hands like this!" so I did and then they put their dicks in my hand.

I touched their Love Gun.

Then they turned around and tried to get me to touch their asses. My hands hovered over their shaved cheeks.

When it was done they asked Kurtis and I for a tip (since I just touched their tips). Kurtis said he didn't have any cash and I pretended not to hear. Then we ran away giggling.

At some point we met up with Todd. I was sobering up. We left Freemont and ordered an Uber to take us back to the hotel. While waiting we found some love locks. They weren't on a bridge, but in a designated area. I still hate them.

Sickening.

When it comes to love locks, I too turn the other cheek.

The six of us went back to the hotel to regroup for maybe 10 minutes before leaving again. We wanted to see the fountain show at the Bellagio. So walking we went! We went over to another hotel/casino then we got on a tram that took us to Bellagio. If we had hurried we could have made the fountain show. But we did not hurry. We got distracted by an indoor garden.

Wish I could hold flowers instead of penises.

It smelled pretty and nice. We left to go look at the fountains even though there was no show (looking back this was a waste of time).

I took pictures to kill the time.

By now it's 12:30 and we're all tired. We go back to the hotel (Todd goes to his hotel) and get in around 1:20. I'm so tired. I changed into pajamas and finished blogging. It was around 2:30 when I wen to to bed.

Goodnight beer tower
